Interests
I'm a science communicator interested in building bridges between scientists, as well as between scientists and the public. I'm editor-in-chief for Hypothesis, and during my PhD I volunteered for science outreach organizations Let's Talk Science and Kids Science to bring science to classrooms and community centres. In winter 2008, I wrote the "Facts behind the Fiction" pieces for the Canadian TV series ReGenesis (season 4) in collaboration with the Ontario Genomics Centre. In March 2008, I co-organized SciBarCamp, an event bringing together scientists, artists, and entrepeneurs. Currently I'm running the Toronto group on Nature Network together with Jen Dodd, and I'm in the planning stages of a few projects involving science and music.
